Appearance
Front office, Owner's box, Outlook and Chemistry
These four screens sit under My club. Front office shows your contracts and your franchise tag. Owner's box shows the goal your owner sets each season. Outlook shows where the roster is heading over five years. Chemistry shows the mood of the locker room.
You can open each screen for another team too. Some panes show only on your own team. The page says which.
Front office
Open Front office from My club. It has up to four panes.
Salary commitments
The Salary commitments pane lists every contract still on the books. It has one column for each season. The pane shows only in a league that shows money.
- Committed is the total for each season.
- Dead money is what you still pay for players you cut.
- Cap room is what is left. If it goes negative, the figure turns red.
- ext marks an extension that starts when the current deal ends.
- PS marks a practice squad player. The salary is listed, but it does not count against the cap.
- A player's final contract year shows in a different color.
The header counts the players on the cap and the players on the practice squad.
Coaching staff
The Coaching staff pane lists the head coach and the two coordinators with their scheme and tenure. Select a name to open the coach profile. See Coaching.
AI personality
This pane shows only on a team that the AI runs. It shows four settings as a slider between two poles:
- Rebuild or contend: Rebuilder to Contender.
- Acquisition: Draft-first to Spend-heavy.
- QB priority: Build full to QB-or-bust.
- Cap discipline: Spend now to Clean books.
These settings shape how that GM trades, bids and drafts. If a rival turns down your trade, read this pane to see why. The settings shift a little each offseason. A Circuit breaker line shows when something is holding them still.
Franchise tag
The Franchise tag pane shows on your own team, in the offseason only. A tag keeps one pending free agent for the next season.
- Open Front office in the offseason.
- Find the player in the list. The list shows the player's position, age, OVR and POT. In a league that shows money, it also shows the Tag value. That is a projected cap hit for the next season.
- Select Tag. The game shows a Franchise tag applied message.
Each team gets one tag. Once a player is tagged, the pane shows Tagged and a Remove tag button. Select it and confirm to put the player back on the market as a pending free agent. You cannot undo the removal before the offseason ends.
If you have no pending free agents, the pane says nobody is eligible.
Owner's box
Open Owner's box from My club. The owner sets one goal for the season. The screen shows how far you are along.
If owner goals are off, the screen says "Ownership isn't setting goals in this league." The commissioner turns them on. See Commissioner.
The goal
Under What the owner wants this season, the screen states the goal in one line. Owners ask for goals like these:
- Make the playoffs while keeping the core together.
- Win while keeping the books clean.
- Play the kids while staying in it.
- Hold the draft capital while staying in it.
- Trim the payroll while staying in it.
- Spend to contend.
Every goal has two halves: the thing the owner asks for, and the catch. Both have to happen. Doing half of it counts for nothing.
Each half has a bar, a status and a reading. A notch on the bar marks where a team exactly on pace would be today. The status reads On pace, Behind pace, There, Out of reach, Met or Missed. The half that is harder to hit shows decides it. For a half that is out of reach, the screen shows how many more you need and how many games are left. A line above the bars shows how many games are played.
How the season is graded
The top of the card shows two chips. The first is the owner's standing. The second is the verdict on this season's goal:
| Verdict | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Not yet graded | The season is still running. The owner decides at the end. |
| Met | Both halves landed. |
| Not met | One half did not. |
| Set aside | The goal was dropped. The card says why: it was never reachable, injuries put it out of reach, or the front office changed hands mid-season. |
The owner's standing is one of Getting acquainted, Backing the GM, Satisfied, Restless or At odds. It follows your record:
- Backing the GM: you hit what the owner asked for.
- Satisfied: you hit the last goal.
- Restless: you missed the last goal.
- At odds: you missed two in a row.
- Getting acquainted: the owner has not had a season to judge you on yet.
A missed goal can make the head coach's seat hotter. The card says so when it does. See Coaching.
On your own team, the Under this GM pane lists every season the owner has graded, with the goal and the result. You can sort it by season, goal or result. It stays empty until the first graded season.
When the owner fires you
In a league set to Goals and firing, a missed goal costs the owner's confidence in you. An owner whose confidence runs out fires you at the season rollover. AI clubs are never fired. The news wire carries a GM fired story. What happens next depends on the league's When a GM is fired setting:
- Find a new club: the Dashboard shows a Your owner fired you card with a list of each Open club. Select Take over on a club, then confirm. Your old club goes to the AI. Until you pick, you keep running your old club. If every club has a GM, you keep your club until one opens up.
- New ownership: the owner sells the club instead. You stay as GM, and the new owner starts with a fresh opinion of you. The news wire carries a New ownership story.
Outlook
Open Outlook to plan ahead. It has four panes.
Position strength
The Position strength pane has one row for each position. It shows your best player there, that player's OVR, the average age at the spot, and EXP, the number of contracts at the spot that expire within a year. The Read column gives a one-word verdict: Hole, Thin, Solid or Strength. Fix the holes first.
Contracts
The Contracts pane has two lists.
- Expiring inside a year lists the deals that run out soon. On your own team, select Extend on a row to open the extension offer. A player in a deal that has one more year shows Next year instead. You can only extend a player in the final played season.
- Aging curve · 30 and up lists older players with a Stage: Prime, Aging or Decline.
The five-year plan
The five-year plan reads the roster, the contracts and the picks and writes a short outlook. Under it, one card for each season shows the cap room.
Draft capital
The Draft capital pane is a grid of seasons by rounds, R1 to R7. A mark shows what you hold:
- ✓ owned: your own pick.
- ✗ traded: you traded it away.
- ✓ acquired: you got it from another team.
- * comp: a compensatory pick.
An empty cell (—) means no pick.
Chemistry
Open Chemistry to read the locker room. The Locker room pane shows a one-word verdict, such as Toxic, Tense, Healthy or Locked-in, and a score out of 100. Mood moves with wins and losses, big signings, cap restructures and run-ins with the captain. Mood also changes how much players gain from weekly work and the offseason.
On your own team, three more panes show:
- Clubhouse composition: how many leaders, hotheads, cancers and prima donnas you have.
- All moods: each player's mood, with the reason. Sort by player, position, mood or reason.
- Recent events: the locker-room news.
On another team, you see the verdict only.
Next: Commissioner.
