Run your season
The Dashboard is the home screen of a league. This page covers how a season moves, what you see in each phase, and where to read results. For the general steps, see Leagues.
Regular season
A strip of last night's scores, labelled Last night, sits under the top bar. Your game comes first. The strip is hidden in the offseason. The top bar shows the phase and the date together. Its switcher on the left changes to Baseball or Football.
The top strip of the Dashboard shows your season so far: record, conference place, point margin, the record your margin says you earned, and your last 10 games.
Advance plays the next set of game dates on the calendar. One game date is about 15 games across the league, not one calendar week. After each advance, a message shows the calendar dates the press played and how many games went final.
Who can press the button depends on the league pace:
- In a league run by hand (Just me), the commissioner presses the advance button. Its label shows what it covers, for example Advance 1 day. The Next sim card shows the date and the number of games the press plays above the button, for example "Dec 2 · 15 games". On a phone the button reads Advance.
- In a scheduled league, nobody presses a button. The Next sim card shows a one-line countdown to the next sim.
The advance button of a league run by hand has an arrow on its right side. Select it to open Sim to…. It runs the league to Trade deadline, End of regular season, End of playoffs or Next season.
In the regular season, Sim to… also has a run of game days. It plays the next 7 game days, or stops early when the regular season ends. A game day is one slate of games, and slates sit about two calendar days apart. On a 2-day or 3-day pace, the run holds 6 game days, so the option reads Next 6 game days. On a 5-day or 7-day pace, one advance already covers the run, so the menu does not offer it.
Anything that needs a decision lands in Needs you. A red row needs a fix. An amber row has a deadline. A blue row is an opportunity. When nothing waits, the list reads Nothing needs you.
In a league run by hand, a Rotation is invalid row does not stop the commissioner. The button becomes Advance anyway, under a red link, Rotation is invalid. Fix it first. Pressing it plays the games. The row stays in Needs you, and the Rotation menu item keeps a red !, until you save a valid rotation.
Standings and schedule
- Standings has an East table and a West table. The table opens on your conference. Ranks 1 to 6 go straight to the playoffs. Ranks 7 to 10 play in. A tie goes to head to head first, and the table shows the seed order.
- GB counts games behind the conference leader. One win or one loss moves it half a game.
- Schedule lists the latest results, newest first, and the next game dates. One week is three game dates, and each team plays once on each date. Your team's games carry an amber mark. Select a final to open its box score. Read the quarter line and the game-flow chart first.
Playoffs
The bracket is the season now. It lives on Playoffs.
- In a league run by hand, each advance plays one game day: one game in every live series. The button reads Advance: playoff game day.
- A scheduled league plays one round per sim.
- The regular-season table stays on the Dashboard for reference.
- Rotation changes you save take effect in the next series game.
Offseason
One press of Advance runs every offseason step that needs no decision. It stops at the next step that does. The button names where the press stops.
The offseason has its own calendar, in the summer after the season:
| Step | Date |
|---|---|
| Lottery | Jun 22 |
| Draft | Jun 26 |
| Free agency | From Jul 1, one day for each round |
| Roster cuts | Aug 1 |
| New season (rollover) | Sep 30 |
- From the Finals, one press runs awards, retirements, chemistry, Player development and the lottery. Player development grades only the programs still running at season end. A program that ended in season is already graded. It stops before the draft. The button reads Advance: the draft.
- After the draft, the button reads Advance: free agency. The press stops before free agency opens. In a league run by hand, the last pick moves the league to free agency by itself, and the draft room hides its Advance button.
- Each press in free agency resolves one round of sealed bids and moves the calendar one day from Jul 1.
- When a GM's club has more than 15 players, the press after the last round stops before roster cuts. The button reads Advance: roster cuts.
- Otherwise the press after the last round runs roster cuts and opens the new season. The button reads Advance: new season.
A scheduled league follows the same stops on each scheduled advance.
See Scouting and the draft, Free agency and Trades for what you do during these steps.
Deadline and the wire
Open Deadline for the trade deadline, the free-agency window and the wire.
- The deadline card shows the calendar date when trading closes. Trades lock after the deadline day and reopen with the new season. Picks still trade in the draft room during the draft.
- Free agency opens after the draft. Each advance resolves one round of sealed bids, one calendar day each, from Jul 1.
- The wire lists every trade, signing, bid and release as it lands.
Season recap and the All-Star Game
- Recap shows one season start to finish: the champion, the Finals result, the trophies and the All-League teams. The season picker changes every block on the page. An award is listed with the team the player is on now, which after a trade is not the team he won it with.
- All-Star shows the All-Star Game. It tips at midseason.
