Your first season
FTG Football is a football GM game that you play in your browser at football.ftgsports.net. You run one team for a full season. It is newer than FTG Baseball and has rougher edges. If something looks wrong, send feedback. See Sending feedback.
Read the Basics pages first for sign-in, leagues, drafts, trades and free agents. The pages in this section cover what is specific to football.
First steps
A good order is:
- Go to football.ftgsports.net and sign in. See Accounts and signing in.
- Create a league and pick the one team you will run all season, or join a league with an invite code. See Leagues and Run your season. To start a league from a custom roster file, see Custom rosters.
- Set your depth chart for offense, defense and special teams. See Your team.
- Shape your coaching staff: your head coach and your two coordinators. See Coaching.
- Focus your scouts on up to five draft prospects, or turn on the Auto checkbox. See Scouting and the draft.
- Run your first sim. In a scheduled league, check when it runs. In a manual league, the commissioner runs the games. See Run your season.
- Look for help at positions where you are thin. See Free agency.
- Before week 9, look at trades. See Trades.
